TRAINING & PROJECTS > EDUCATION & EVENTS 1. INTEGRITY DAY The first Integrity Day, a national conference for integrity in sport, was held in November 2023 as a joint initiative between the Federal Ministry for Arts, Cul- ture, the Civil Service and Sport, the Play Fair Code, the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA), 100% Sport, and fairplay (VIDC). The event provided representatives from sports organizati- ons, governing bodies, and professional associations with the opportunity to find out about the work being undertaken by Austrian integrity experts in the fields of doping, racism, match-fixing, and sexualized violence. Under the heading “Good governance in sport – necessities, opportunities, and challenges,” Vice-Chancellor and Sports Minister Werner Kogler discussed a series of hot topics with the managing directors of the integrity institutions on the panel. Play Fair Code CEO Severin Moritzer opened up the Match- fixing breakout session by providing an insight into and an overview of the phenomenon of match-fixing and betting fraud. In the subsequent discussion, guests Andreas Baumgart- ner, Integrity Off icer at the Austrian Football Association (ÖFB) and Sharif Shoukry, Managing Director of the Austrian Sports Betting Association (OSWV) addressed the matter of what preventative measures can be introduced and what happens when something “happens.” 9
