Interwetten joining the Play Fair Code

Plenty of activities planned
The cooperation with the Play Fair Code is intended to be used to train and sensitize clubs, athletes and functionaries across the sports landscape on the subject of match-fixing and betting fraud. Training sessions with the Austrian ski sport athletes, Interwetten is a long-time partner of the Austrian Ski Federation, as well as with the regional associations of the football federation, are some of the activities on the agenda. In addition to prevention and education, the cooperation within the sports betting industry and other members of the Play Fair Code shall also be strengthened.

Industry pioneer
Interwetten has been a pioneer in the field of integrity since its foundation 30 years ago. The online gaming provider is a member of the DSWV (German Sports Betting Association), the OVWG (Austrian Association for Betting and Gambling), the MRGC (Malta Remote Gaming Council) and the International Betting Integrity Association. Interwetten was also a co-founder of the European Gaming and Betting Association.

Dominik Beier, speaker of the board at Interwetten: “The tennis betting scandal recently showed us how quickly an entire industry is put under general suspicion. It is precisely those licensed betting providers, such as Interwetten, which have always worked transparently and are equipped with a large number of early-warning mechanisms, who suffer from the effects of manipulation and betting fraud and want to prevent this with all their strength. Manipulation happens on the illegal market. To prevent this, clubs, athletes and officials have to be ade-quately trained, protected and made aware of the dangers. Interwetten is a pioneer here, but we want to do even more. The partnership with the Play Fair Code is therefore a very good next step.”

Günther Kaltenbrunner, President of Play Fair Code: “We are  very pleased to welcoming  Interwetten as another new member of the Play Fair Code. The fact that our partner network continues to grow not only on the sports associations side, but also on the side of the betting providers, once again shows the substantial appreciation of our work is in the industry.”

Severin Moritzer, CEO of the Play Fair Code: “The sports betting providers as well as our partners from the sports associations and leagues are very well aware that match-fixing causes huge damage to sport. The activation and involvement of the sports betting industry therefore is a logical step, which we have been continuously developing for years. Welcome Interwetten!"
