"We followed a very interesting lecture on manipulation and integrity in sport. Within this issue there definitely is a need for education and a clear guideline how footballers should act”, Tommy Wright, summed it up.

Appreciation all round for the Play Fair Code trainings

A very valuable presentation, paired with a vivid moderation!" said Kevin Pauschenwein, athletic director of the amateurs in Mattersburg. Roman Zeisel, chairman of the Vienna Viktoria coached by Austrian striker legend Toni Polster, added: "The feedback was extremely positive. And as we recognize the urgency, this subject area has been integrated into the past as well as this year's Code of Conduct. "

There is no question that after the second round of integrity trainings conducted by the Play Fair Code at the 16 clubs in the Regional League East, both interest and attention was attracted. Thanks to the excellent cooperation with the Austrian Football Association as well as its regional member associations and the club officials, almost all clubs have been visited and sensitized to the topic of match-fixing and betting fraud since the kick-off in mid-July.

Günter Kaltenbrunner, President of the Play Fair Code, summarized: "We can draw very positive conclusions so far. After the Regional League East, now clubs in the central and western divisions are in the focus of our agenda for 2020. We would like to thank all participants of our trainings for their active contribution and hosting our integrity trainings. Only with this support we can join awareness forces to counteract the highly sensitive topic. The personal exchange with the athletes and coaches is and remains to be the most important pillar of our preventive measures.”
